We may yawn sometimes, and at that time you may think that our body gets tired and it needs more amount of oxygen.
But it’s not a real reason.
Also if you see a person who is yawning then automatically we tend to yawn.
Do you know the reason behind this? Let’s get into this.
Actually, we may think about the connection between yawning and tiredness of the body. It’s not a right comparison.
Let’s imagine we are running a marathon. To make this happen, we need stamina. During the marathon, our body gets tired.
Have you ever yawned while running a marathon or doing some exercise in the gym?
Here our body gets tired and needs more amount of oxygen but we yawn in these situations. Definitely No!
Then why we are yawning? Actually, our brain acts as a processing unit and it sends signals for regular body functions. At some particular time, our brain gets stressed due to factors like work pressure, the surrounding temperature, etc., and the brain’s temperature increases.
To cool down its temperature, the brain sends a signal to yawn.
At that time, we intake the cool air. This cool air helps in lowering the temperature of the brain and also our facial muscles get relaxed.
The second question, Why do we yawn, if we see other people is yawning ?
It is a psychological thing! Imagine if we are in a theater and we see a humorous scene, what does the audience do? They laugh.
If the scene is less humorous and if 90 % of the audience is laughing what will the 10 % of people do?
Will they remain quite? No.
They will also laugh. Why?
It is a psychological thing. As an audience, we are sharing our emotions in the same way if we see any person yawning. That triggers our brain to yawn.
One interesting thing is not only humans, animals also yawn.
